Citing Sources and Bibliographies

For most research papers you will be required to include a bibliography.  A bibliography is a list of resources that were used (books, articles, websites, videos, etc.) while researching and writing your paper. This information is included so your teacher knows where your information came from. Sources used must also be cited correctly so that you do not plagiarize information.
The Owl at Purdue site is an excellent guide to different citation formats.  Typically high school research assignments will require APA or MLA style.

Check out this short video from the NSCC library page on what citation is and why it is important before you begin to cite. There are other links on this NSCC library site about documentation that may help you as well.

If you have any questions feel free to email Ms. Cochrane at cochranes@ccrce.ca
